Located in Ekkarat Subdistrict, lies a village renowned for its craftsmanship and heritage: the village of Drum Makers. Since 1927, these artisans have refined their craft, fashioning drums from the supple wood of the rain tree, renowned for its malleable texture. Utilising cow hides to fashion the drum heads, visitors are invited to witness the process of drum-making, from the initial carving of the wood to the final assembly and tuning. These drums, ranging from small to big, including the giant drum, with its imposing dimensions of 36 inches in width and 7.6 metres in length made of 6 pieces of connecting raintree wood, are symbols of the village’s cultural legacy. Visitors are warmly welcomed to marvel at these masterpieces, housed within the residence of the village headman, Mr. Hongfa Yodyoi. Open daily 06.00-18.00 hrs. For further details contact , Tel.
