Ban Bang Sadet Court Dolls Center
The Ban Bang Sadet Court Doll Center sits in a traditional raised Thai wooden house on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Tambon Bang Sadet, Pa Mok district. Established in 1976 under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, the centre was created to give local villagers a supplementary income through the craft of making miniature clay court dolls.
The dolls are the highlight: small, finely detailed figurines capturing scenes from Thai daily life — a fruit seller on a floating market, a child playing a traditional game, musicians in a Thai orchestra, a Muay Thai bout, or a man offering food to a monk. The centre operates as a cooperative, with artisans producing the dolls in their own homes and bringing finished work to the centre for sale and export.
Visitors can watch craftspeople at work and purchase dolls directly. The showroom is small and intimate; the centre is worth combining with other Pa Mok attractions along the Chao Phraya. Entry is free. Open daily 09:00–16:00. Call ahead on (66) 3566 1157.
