Baan Phet Dam Windmill Field, Khao Yai

Baan Phet Dam Windmill Field, located in Thung Samo Subdistrict, Khao Kho District, is a large-scale wind energy project featuring 24 massive wind turbines spread across more than 300 rai. With a generating capacity of 60 megawatts, the farm sits at an elevation of 1,050 meters above sea level, making it visible from various locations in Khao Kho and Khaem Son Subdistricts. Each wind turbine stands 110 meters tall, with a blade diameter of 120 meters—the longest wind turbine blades in Thailand. Utilizing clean energy technology, the farm produces an average of 140 million units of electricity per year. Visitors traveling to the windmill field during the rainy season can witness a breathtaking sea of mist drifting through the turbines—a perfect opportunity for photography enthusiasts to capture stunning shots. For those who love adventure, try riding the thrilling “Formula Mong”, a gravity-powered wooden cart that races downhill, or take on the “Mong Swing”, a single-rope swing that offers an exhilarating experience. Additionally, there are plenty of local souvenir shops nearby selling handmade goods from the villagers. Baan Phet Dam Windmill Field, visitors can take a tram for a scenic tour of the project for a fee of 40 THB per person. The site is open daily from 06:00 AM to 06:00 PM.
