King Taksin the Great Shrine, Kanchanaburi

Located on Charot Withi Thong Road, Nong Luang Subdistrict, it was constructed in 1947 by the Fine Arts Department, which cast a statue of King Taksin the Great in a royal posture, seated on a throne with the royal sword across his lap. The base of the statue bears an inscription that reads; “King Taksin of Thonburi, born in 1734 and passed away in 1782, a total of 48 years.” This shrine is much revered and visited by the public.
