Rim Moei Market, Tak

Located in Tha Sai Luat Subdistrict, along the Moei River opposite Myawaddy, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the market offers a variety of local products from both countries; such as, dried bamboo shoots, dried fish, “Hua Yung” fish or Bombay Duck (Harpardon nehereus), shiitake mushrooms, beans, leather goods, satin fabrics, etc. The market is also a hub for trading gemstones like jade, ruby, and coloured stones from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.  Open daily 07.30-18.30 hrs.   

What to Expect

This community offers visitors a glimpse into traditional Thai or hill tribe culture. Residents may practice traditional crafts such as weaving, silverwork, or coffee growing. Some villages welcome homestay guests and offer guided cultural experiences.
