Unlike many tourist-heavy waterfalls in Thailand, Som Poi maintains its wild character, offering visitors an authentic encounter with the country’s untamed natural beauty.
The waterfall plunges approximately 20 meters in several distinct tiers, each forming natural swimming basins surrounded by smooth rock formations. During peak flow season, the main cascade creates a powerful rush of white water, while the gentler upper pools provide ideal spots for a peaceful swim. The surrounding jungle comes alive with the calls of hornbills and gibbons, while the air carries the fresh scent of wet earth and tropical vegetation. Adventurous visitors can explore multiple levels of the falls, though the lower pools offer the deepest and most comfortable swimming areas.
Peace defines the Som Poi experience, broken only by the constant music of falling water and forest sounds. The remote location means you might have the entire waterfall to yourself, especially on weekdays.
