Phu Chi Fa National Park, located in Tap Tao Subdistrict, is predominantly characterized by alternating mountains with small pockets of flat terrain nestled among the high peaks. The park features diverse forests, including deciduous forests, pine forests, mixed forests, and hill evergreen forests, serving as the source of several rivers; such as, Lam Nam Ngao, Lam Huai Luek, Lam Huai Chomphu, Lam Huai Pa Daeng, Lam Huai Khu, and Lam Huai Han. It also offers breathtaking views of sea of mist and sunrise. Phu Chi Fa itself resembles a pointed peak reaching towards the sky, standing at an altitude of 1,628 metres above sea level. Its cliff face extends towards the Laotian side, offering panoramic views of Laos and the sea of mist. On top of Phu Chi Fa is a grassland on the mountain ridge. Visitors often stay in resorts at the base of the mountain to prepare for seeing sunrise from the viewpoint around 5 a.m. The park entrance fee is currently not charged.
