Mae Kok River is the blood line for people of Chiang Rai, started from the hills on boarder with Myanmar and enters Thailand through Tha Ton and reach Mae Khong River in total of 130 km. Mae Kok River is very important to Lanna civilisation because archeologists have found ancient city along the river. Interesting activities includes boating follow Mae Kok River, elephant riding to visiting local villages, and watching local traditional performance. Boat service renting is 900 baht to 1,000 baht boat can accommodate 8 persons and about 1 hour to travel. Other activities are kayaking and enjoy in onsen.
