Ban Pha Thung Ancient Pattern Weaving Centre, Chainat

The Centre, situated in Huai Haeng Subdistrict, is a testament to preserving the ancient weaving tradition of the Laotian community who migrated to central Thailand. The centre meticulously upholds patterns, colors, and dyeing techniques passed down over two to three centuries. Visitors will find Pha Sin tube skirt, loincloth, tote bag, headscarves for ordination ceremony, blankets, and pre-wedding bedding sets that have been carefully crafted and honored with a UNESCO world-class award. Before marriage ceremonies, brides traditionally hand-weave the bedding sets themselves, from spinning cotton, weaving, and then combined into a complete bedding set, a practice deeply rooted in tradition.
