Trok Rong Ya Walking Street, Chainat

The Walking Street is located in Uthai Mai Subdistrict. Originally, it was a residential area for Chinese immigrants and operated as a regulated opium-smoking zone. The locals hence named this alley “Rong Ya Alley.” Eventually, the area underwent a transformation into a bustling pedestrian street at the heart of Uthai Thani city. Stretching over 150 metres, both sides of the street are lined with well-preserved ancient wooden houses. Here, a diverse array of culinary delights and snacks awaits, including the renowned province’s first “Khanom Tang Taek” (pancake with coconut and sugar), “Khao Kreab Pak Mo” (streamed rice dumpling), ” Khanom Bueng Yuan” (savory crepe), “Luk Chin Pla Krai” (fish meatballs), pork satay, and traditional treats like “Pla Nam” (fermented fish). Other items include antique utensils and collectibles. Additionally, visitors can explore old houses open for touring, delving into the rich historical narrative of Rong Ya Alley and Uthai Thani city. Open Saturday 16.00–20.00 hrs.
