It is the old temple of Ayutthaya period in Phraya Kod Bon era. Originally, it was called the Kong Chang because it is the elephant camp. Later, it was called the Klong Chang until the government opened Prachapiban school at the temple. The name was changed to Wat Rong Chang. The attraction of this temple is the large three-dimensional Buddha statue, Pang Manvichai, Pang Ham Yad and Pang Sai Yad including the main pagoda of the temple, built in 1974. The area around the pagoda contains 108 scriptures. Inside the pagoda, it was built as an underground crypt for collecting 84,000 copies of the Buddha’s teachings.
