Wat Si Sawan Sangkharam, locally known as Thue Nam Temple, sits along the Chao Phraya River where this ancient tradition continues unchanged. The temple’s name literally translates to “water alms,” reflecting its distinctive riverside location and the boats that carry saffron-robed monks to collect offerings from waterfront communities each dawn.

Traditional Thai temple architecture dominates the complex, with the main ordination hall showcasing classic pointed roofs and intricate wooden carvings. Inside, golden Buddha statues catch the morning light streaming through tall windows, while the scent of incense mingles with the fresh river breeze.
