Ban Pha Hi is situated in Pong Ngam Subdistrict, a quaint community nestled along the path from Doi Tung to Doi Chang Mub, descending toward Tham Luang Cave. It’s located approximately 13 kilometres away from Ban Pha Mi, which lies lower on the plains. Originally inhabited by the Akha hill tribe who traditionally grew opium, the landscape of Ban Pha Hi changed around 1981 when the government encouraged coffee cultivation. With the initiation of the Doi Tung development project and coffee research plots in 1988, the residents transitioned to coffee farming as their main livelihood, a practice that persists today.
