Aleenta Hua Hin - Pranburi is the original Aleenta — a small, whitewashed beachfront retreat on Paknampran Bay, about half an hour south of Hua Hin proper and well away from the town’s busier seafront. Mediterranean in feel, intimate in scale and a member of The Small Luxury Hotels of the World, it set the template for the brand’s quiet, design-led beach resorts before the Phang Nga sister property followed.
The draw is seclusion on the sand. Accommodation is a handful of rooms, suites and villas, several with private pools or plunge pools facing the Gulf, plus a beachfront infinity pool for the resort. Dining centres on The Living Room, a sea-view restaurant and bar leaning on locally grown organic produce and a decent wine list, and there’s a spa and yoga for the wind-down. The beach here is calm and uncrowded — this is a place for reading, swimming and long sunrises over the Gulf rather than a buzzing resort scene.
Best for: couples and Bangkok weekenders who want a quiet, stylish beach escape within a few hours of the capital. Less good for: travellers who want Hua Hin’s night markets, bars and big-resort facilities on the doorstep.
Insider Tip: Pranburi is deliberately sleepy — book a sea-facing pool suite and settle in, with a car for trips to Sam Roi Yot’s caves and viewpoints or into Hua Hin for the markets. Sunrise is the show here, as the bay faces east over the Gulf.
