Thailand Essential Information
27 guides
This is the admin half of a Thailand trip: entry requirements, airports, getting between cities, money, health and the weather patterns that decide when to go. Rules here change with little warning — visa conditions and arrival paperwork have both shifted more than once recently — so each page carries a review date and we re-check the volatile ones on a schedule.
The transport guides matter more than most people expect. Thailand is bigger than it looks on a map, and the choice between an internal flight, an overnight train and a bus can cost you a full day of a two-week trip. Bangkok alone has two airports, and picking the wrong one for a connection is a common and expensive mistake.
Weather guidance is split by coast rather than given as one national season, because the Andaman and the Gulf get their monsoons at different times of year. If you only read one page before booking, make it the seasonal one for the coast you are heading to.
