Outrigger Khao Lak Beach Resort — formerly Manathai Khao Lak — is a five-star beachfront resort at 2/4 Moo 8 on Petchkasem Road in Takua Pa district, rebuilt and taken over by Outrigger in 2022. It sits north of Khao Lak’s busier central strip, on a quieter stretch of the Andaman coast.
Rooms run from standard categories up to seven standalone villas, four of which have their own private plunge pool. A garden-view room, a family layout and a pool villa are three very different bookings under one resort name, so check the exact category before you pay — “villa” alone doesn’t guarantee the pool.
Insider Tip: Only four of the seven standalone villas come with a private plunge pool — confirm the plunge-pool villa category specifically when booking rather than assuming every villa has one.
On site: a main pool, a children’s pool, a kids’ club, a fitness centre, a massage sala, restaurants and water-sports rental. Bang Sak itself is quiet, so a scooter or taxi is worth arranging if you want more restaurant choice than the resort’s own.
Phuket International Airport is roughly a 90-minute drive away in normal traffic; build in more time if you’re catching a flight. Similan Islands or national-park trips depend on season and sea conditions, so a beachfront address here is not a guarantee that a particular boat trip runs or includes hotel pickup.
