Pentahug Hotel

Pentahug Hotel is a three-star hotel on a quiet side street, Soi Sukha Uppatham 9, in Mueang Ubon. It’s on the Mun River side of the city — the Mekong runs along Ubon Ratchathani’s eastern border, a good drive from here. Restaurants and a 7-Eleven are a short walk out the door; treat Wat Nong Bua, the bus terminal, the walking street and the central museums as a quick taxi ride rather than a stroll.

All three room categories measure 32 sqm and sleep two: Superior Twin has two single beds, Superior Double a queen, and Deluxe Double adds a queen bed plus a balcony and minibar. None comes with a private kitchen — Agoda also lists a shared communal kitchen elsewhere on the property, which is a different thing from cooking in your own room.

You’ll find a restaurant, breakfast buffet, room service, free Wi-Fi and parking, a 24-hour desk, a tour desk, meeting space, a garden and family rooms. Skip the swimming-pool plans — Agoda’s own facility list doesn’t back one up, whatever a stray listing elsewhere might say.

Insider Tip: The three room sizes and occupancy are identical, so the real choice is the Deluxe’s balcony and minibar versus paying less for the same floor space.

Pentahug works for couples, business travellers and anyone driving in who wants a restaurant and parking off the busier main roads. It’s a weaker fit if you want a pool, in-room cooking or a base you can walk everywhere from — free Wi-Fi is listed, but keep mobile data as backup if a video call really matters.
