U Duay Gan Garden Home sits in Warin Chamrap, on the far side of the Mun River from central Ubon Ratchathani. The train station is about a kilometre away, which is handy if you’re arriving by rail, but the city’s main sights — Talad Yai market, Wat Thung Si Muang, the National Museum — are 3.6-4.3 km off and really call for a car or tuk-tuk rather than a walk.
All four room types come in at 30 square metres, so the real choice is the bed: two singles in the Standard Twin, or a king in the Garden View, Superior Double and Deluxe rooms. Every room has a fridge or minibar rather than a kitchen, so breakfast and dinner mean the on-site restaurant or a short trip into town.
Downstairs there’s a restaurant and cafe, a garden with a sun terrace, a shared lounge with an indoor play area, and a picnic spot that’s useful for families killing time before a train. Add free Wi-Fi, free parking, bikes, a small convenience store and laundry service. There’s no pool on site, so if a swim matters, look elsewhere in Ubon.
Insider Tip: Use the train station for arrival and departure, then book a car or taxi for the day — this isn’t a walk-to-everything hotel.
The building runs three storeys with no lift, so ask for a ground-floor room if stairs are a problem. Some rooms suit limited mobility better than others; it’s worth checking the exact room with the hotel before you book.
