Chaweng Villawee Hotel is a 3-star hotel in the middle of Chaweng, Koh Samui’s busiest beach town. It is 350 ft from the centre of Chaweng and about 1,050 ft from Chaweng Beach, with a pool, on-site restaurant and bar, and rooms from standard doubles to family suites.

There are ten room types. Superior rooms (double with city view, double with pool view, twin) are the entry level at around 20 sqm. Deluxe rooms (double with balcony, double with pool access, twin) are around 24 sqm, and the pool-access room is the one to pick if you want to step out to the water. There is also a Triple Room with Pool View for three.

Groups have more choice. The Superior Family Room, the Suite with City View and the Family Suite with Balcony are the larger rooms, the last at around 48 sqm and sleeping four or more guests. Every room has a fridge, flat-screen TV and private bathroom, and some have balconies. There are no extra beds, though cribs are available on request.

Location and getting there

The hotel gives an address on Chaweng Beach, though the postal line says Tambon Bophut. Booking.com places it in Chaweng, on the main strip’s side streets. Ark Bar Samui is a 4-minute walk and Solo Bar is about 330 ft away. Noi Restaurant is 400 ft off, and Chaweng Beach about 1,050 ft. Guest comments describe it as close to the main road yet quiet.

It suits families and groups who want a pool and room to spread out, and travellers who want to walk to bars, restaurants and the beach without a taxi. Guest comments on Booking.com praise the pool, the clean rooms and the friendly staff.

It is a poorer fit if you want a beach-front setting or total silence. The hotel itself warns it is in a busy area where guests might experience some noise, and pets are not allowed.

Insider Tip: Check-in runs to 23:30, but check-out opens at 04:00, which suits early ferry or flight departures. Ask for a pool-view or pool-access room when you book, rather than a city-view room.
