La Flora Khao Lak is a four-star resort directly on Bang Niang Beach, close enough to Bang Niang’s restaurants and market that you don’t need a car for dinner. The beach access and the walkable strip both count in its favour — plenty of Khao Lak resorts have one but not the other.

Rooms & Facilities

Rooms span three wings and run 38 to 76 sqm. Superior and Superior Pool Access rooms are 38 sqm; Deluxe and Deluxe Seaside rooms step up to 42 sqm; Deluxe Pool Access reaches 45 sqm; and Grand Pool Access tops out at 54 sqm. The 76 sqm Family Two-Bedroom sleeps up to five across a king bed and twin beds — useful if you’re travelling with kids and don’t want to book two separate rooms.

There’s no guest kitchen here — rooms come with a fridge or minibar plus tea and coffee facilities, and the resort’s own restaurants and Bang Niang’s food stalls fill in the rest. What you do get is five pools, Floranica Spa, a Thai traditional clinic, a fitness programme, a kids’ club and children’s pool, four bars, and sea kayaking and snorkelling on site.

Insider Tip: “Seaside,” “Pool Access” and “Family Two-Bedroom” aren’t just bed upgrades — they’re different wings and different capacities, so match the room name to what you actually need before booking.

Pros
  • Direct Bang Niang Beach access
  • Five pools, spa, fitness and kids’ facilities
  • Nine room and family configurations from 38 to 76 sqm
  • Walk to Bang Niang’s restaurants and market
Cons
  • No guest kitchen
  • Pool-access and family rooms vary in occupancy by category
  • Bang Niang is a lively strip, not a quiet stretch of sand
  • Excursions further afield still need transport
