Lamai Coconut Beach Resort is a beachfront bungalow resort on Lamai Beach, on the south-east coast of Koh Samui. It has a pool, a beach restaurant and bar, and rooms in bungalows and a low-rise block, all a short walk from Lamai’s shops and street food.

There are six room types. Beach Front Bungalow, Garden Bungalow and Superior Bungalow have a full bed. Superior Pool View, Superior Garden View and Superior Sea View have a queen bed. All have air conditioning, a fridge, satellite TV, tea and coffee making, a safe and a private bathroom with a hot shower.
The choice mostly comes down to how close you want to be to the water. The Beach Front Bungalow puts the sand at your door, and recent guest comments describe it as a bit small with no real seating inside, though the balcony has a table and chairs. Upper-floor rooms in the main block get more view, and one guest praised a third-floor room overlooking the beach. The garden-facing rooms trade the sea view for a position back from the sand.
Location and getting there
The resort sits on Lamai Beach, about 1,300 ft from the centre of Lamai, so cafes, massage shops and the evening market are walkable. One guest put the night market at a 10-minute walk. Who Lamai Coconut Beach Resort suits (and who it doesn’t)
It suits couples and beach-first travellers who want to step from the room onto Lamai’s sand, swim in the sea and walk into town for dinner. It also works for families with children over 3.
Skip it if you want a polished, modern room. Guests mention that the bungalows need refurbishing. It is also a poor fit for babies (no cribs or extra beds) and for anyone travelling with a pet, as pets are not allowed.
