Superior Studio
One-Bedroom Villa
Phangan Akuna Resort & Residences is 18 private houses in Sri Thanu, on Koh Phangan’s west side. It isn’t beachfront, but Hin Kong and Sri Thanu beaches are a short trip away, along with the restaurants and shops around the Zen and Sri Thanu area. Haad Rin sits clear across the island, so don’t count on a fixed travel time for Full Moon nights — it depends on traffic and the road you take.
The Superior Studio has a 35 sqm interior and a 14 sqm balcony; the One-Bedroom Villa steps up to a 40 sqm interior, a separate living room and a 23 sqm balcony. Both sleep two and come with a full kitchen — hob, extractor, microwave, pots, pans and kettle — and the one-bedroom adds a fridge and toaster. Watch for listings that quote interior-plus-balcony as one figure; that’s how the same villa shows up as 40 sqm on one site and 63-66 sqm on another.
Every house has its own workspace, and residents share a pool, a small fitness room, Wi-Fi, parking and gardens, with shuttle help on request. There’s no restaurant on site and no guaranteed breakfast, so the kitchen and Sri Thanu’s restaurants do the heavy lifting for meals.
Insider Tip: Compare interior and balcony square metres separately before booking — combined totals make some listings look far bigger than the room actually is.
This suits solo travellers and couples settling in for a week or more who want to cook and get some work done between beach trips. It’s a poor match if you want to fall out of bed onto sand, eat breakfast downstairs, or stay within stumbling distance of the Full Moon Party — Haad Rin is a proper cross-island trip from here.
