Facilities
Sang Chan Hostel sits right off Koh Lipe’s Walking Street, close to the island’s restaurants and dive shops. Pattaya Beach is a two-minute walk at about 200 metres, and Sunrise Beach is an easy stroll across this small island too — Sunset Beach takes longer to reach on foot.
Private rooms cover an 11 sqm Small Twin with two single beds and a 20 sqm Standard Double that comes with either a double bed or twins. Prefer to share? Dorm beds come in six-bed, three-bed and eight-bed mixed rooms — the six-bed room measures 16 sqm total, so expect a tight squeeze with bunks rather than spacious floor space.
Free Wi-Fi, a shared lounge with outdoor seating, private or express check-in, a 24-hour desk with security, lockers, luggage storage, laundry and help booking tours round out the facility list. Air-conditioning isn’t guaranteed on every rate, so check before you pay if that matters.
Insider Tip: Ask for a room away from the Walking Street side if you want a quieter night — the location that makes this hostel convenient by day gets noisy after dark.
There’s no guest kitchen or parking here, though neither matters much on an island with very little car traffic — motorbike-sidecar taxis and the odd service vehicle are about all you’ll see on the roads.
This suits travelers who want to walk everywhere — Walking Street, Pattaya Beach, Sunrise Beach — without much planning. If you need a quiet beachfront stay, your own kitchen or a parked scooter outside your door, look elsewhere on the island.
