Columbia Pictures Aquaverse is the water park formerly known as Cartoon Network Amazone — it closed for a refit and reopened under Sony/Columbia Pictures branding in October 2022. The park sits at Na Chom Thian in Sattahip district, about 15-20 km south of central Pattaya, and markets itself as the world’s first movie-studio-themed water park. Entry runs roughly 1,390-1,600 THB online; it’s closed on Wednesdays.
Experience
The slides, wave pool, and lazy river carry theming from Columbia Pictures and Sony titles — Jumanji, Ghostbusters, Hotel Transylvania, Zombieland, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Surf’s Up among them — with costumed characters appearing through the day and a mini-golf course tied to The Emoji Movie. The park is smaller than Ramayana Water Park up the coast but leans toward younger children, with shallow play zones and family raft slides alongside a handful of steeper drops for teenagers and adults.
Atmosphere & Timing
Expect a family-park crowd rather than an adrenaline-slide crowd — the theming and character appearances are aimed squarely at kids. Weekday mornings right after the 10:00 opening are the quietest window before Thai and Russian tour groups arrive mid-morning.
Practical
Lockers, towel rental, and food courts are on site, and the usual water-park rules apply: swimwear only on the slides, rash guards are fine. The park is closed on Wednesdays, and last admission is around 15:30 even though the gates stay open until 18:00. Songthaews don’t reach this far south reliably — a Grab or Bolt from central Pattaya takes 20-30 minutes, or combine the trip with Pattaya Park if you’re staying closer to town.
Insider Tip: Buy tickets online a day ahead — the same ticket is consistently cheaper through the official site or platforms like Klook than paying at the gate.
Watch out: The park is closed every Wednesday and last admission is roughly 15:30, well before the stated 18:00 closing time — check the specific date on the official site before making the drive down from Pattaya.
