Phuket Fantasea

Phuket FantaSea is a 140-acre ticketed theme park on the northern edge of Kamala Beach, built around a nightly stage show rather than rides. Show-only tickets cost 1,800 THB; adding the Golden Kinnaree buffet dinner brings it to 2,200 THB for adults and 2,000 THB for children. The park only operates three nights a week — Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday, 17:30 to 23:30 — so check the calendar before booking a night it doesn’t run.
The headline event is Fantasy of a Kingdom, a roughly 70-minute stage production loosely retelling the story of a Prince of Kamala through illusions, aerial rigging, and pyrotechnics. It opens with a procession of more than 30 elephants and brings them back for later scenes. Worth knowing before you book: staged elephant performances draw genuine welfare criticism from conservation groups, and this show is built around exactly that kind of performance rather than hands-off observation. Anyone still keen on the spectacle should go in aware of that trade-off.
Buffet ticket-holders eat first, in the Golden Kinnaree hall, roughly 17:30 to 21:00, before filing into the theatre for the 21:00 show (gates open at 20:20). Arrive earlier and there’s a second park to explore before dinner — Festival Village sells Thai silk, leather, and ceramics from small stalls, an on-site arcade covers younger kids, and a mock floating market runs handicraft demonstrations on most open nights.
Insider Tip: Get there by 18:00 on a buffet ticket — Festival Village and the elephant enclosure are worth 45 minutes on their own, and the crowd thins again once everyone files in for dinner.
Watch out: Cameras, phones, and any recording device get checked in at a security counter before the theatre doors. There’s no photography or filming once the show starts, so build in a few minutes either side to drop off and collect your phone.
FantaSea sits at 99 Moo 3, Kamala, Kathu District, a short taxi or hotel-transfer ride from most Phuket beach resorts; many ticket packages bundle round-trip transfer for a surcharge over the walk-in prices above. Comfortable shoes matter more than any dress code — expect to be on your feet through Festival Village and standing for the elephant procession before finding your theatre seat. Travelling with younger kids who’d rather skip an evening show entirely? Andamanda Phuket, a daytime water park in the same Kathu District, is the more obvious pick.
