Rainforest Farm

Rainforest Farm is a free, daily-access organic farm and reforestation site on the Phitsanulok-Lom Sak Road in Wang Thong district — no ticket booth, no set tour times, just marked trails through working rice paddies, orchard rows, and young forest plots. It sits at Km 276 of Highway 12, about 43 km east of Phitsanulok town, in the same stretch of road as the Rain Forest Resort and its Rainfern restaurant, which the farm supplies.

Trails loop through rice paddies, vegetable beds, fruit orchards, and reforested hillside — the parts of a working farm rather than a manicured show garden. Staff explain composting setups, basic organic pest control, and the irrigation channels that feed the paddies, in plain terms rather than a scripted tour. Insider Tip: go before 10 AM. The paddies and orchard rows sit fully exposed once the sun climbs, and the farm has no shaded café or rest area to retreat to.

The pace is unhurried and mostly self-guided — you walk the paths at your own speed, stopping where something’s happening (weeding, watering, a planting demonstration if timing allows) rather than following a fixed script. School groups turn up on weekday mornings, which livens the place but also means the paths can feel busy for an hour or two; weekends and afternoons are quieter.
