Orchid Lodge Samui runs this eight-day retreat for Christian women, and it is explicitly a faith-centred week rather than a yoga holiday with a chapel attached. Daily Bible study, prayer and guided discussion sit at the centre, with a Sunday church worship service and the option of a one-to-one private mentoring session. The operator is direct that the intent is discipleship and spiritual formation, not religious legalism — worth knowing in both directions before booking.

Around that spine the week is genuinely relaxed. Group outings visit viewpoints, cafés and local spots on Koh Samui, plus an ethical elephant sanctuary, a five-course Thai cooking class, a beach day and the island night markets. All island transport for group activities is covered, as is a one-hour private massage. Rooms are private and air-conditioned with modern bathrooms, and housekeeping is daily. There are also three resident cats.

Watch out: Meals are two a day, not three — breakfast plus either lunch or dinner, with anything else at your own cost. Thai snacks and drinks are complimentary. On Samui an extra meal out runs anywhere from 80 THB at a market stall to several hundred at a resort restaurant, so budget by where you plan to eat rather than assuming full board.

Insider Tip: Airport or ferry transfers to the lodge are included both ways, but getting to Koh Samui is not. Flying into Samui (USM) is quickest and dearest; the cheaper route is a budget flight to Surat Thani and the ferry across, which adds roughly half a day each way. Decide that before you book flights, since the included transfer covers either arrival point.

The retreat is women-only and all levels are welcome. If the faith element is the reason you are looking rather than an incidental feature, this is one of very few structured Christian options on the island.
