Kiyora Spa, in the Old City of Chiang Mai, built this nine-day programme for people worn down by work stress and poor sleep. Its co-founder, Emmy Suwunnakul, a certified aromatherapist, crystal healing practitioner and herbalist, leads every consultation and workshop herself. Most days are spent at the spa, with a night in a farming village near Mae Taman and a morning at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Groups never go above four guests.
- Duration: 9 days, 8 nights, on set start dates (the next ones from 10 November 2026)
- Treatments: massages, facials, herbal steams and four chakra sessions
- Movement: two yoga sessions paired with singing-bowl sound healing, a guided forest walk
- Meals: daily brunch, plus dinner and breakfast in the village
- Group: up to 4 guests
How the nine days run
Day one opens with a private consultation, where your herbal tea and later your herbal steam blend are put together for you. The programme then moves through three phases: Detox and Ground, Heal and Rebalance, and Restore and Seal. Treatments include a two-hour aromatherapy massage for the head, back and shoulders, an office-syndrome treatment, a deep-sleep session, two facials and shungite foot therapy. A four-part Chakra Journey and crystal-bed sessions run through the programme, along with EFT tapping. Two craft workshops have you blend your own roll-ons, energy-clearing mist and herbal balm, which you take home.
On days four and five you leave the city for a village near Mae Taman. There’s a gentle hike and forest bathing, breathwork and meditation by a small waterfall, foraging and cooking over charcoal, and a night in a village house. On day eight you spend the morning at Doi Suthep.
Rooms and food
You stay in a private en-suite room at the North Moat 10 homestay, inside the old city moat, or at East Moat 70 or another partner hotel near the spa. Brunch comes from a partner restaurant every day, and lunch is provided on the village and temple days. Fruit, Thai desserts and tea are available throughout. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and halal diets can be catered for if you say so when you book.
Watch out: energy healing, chakra work and EFT are complementary practices, not medical treatment. If burnout comes with depression or anxiety, keep your own doctor involved.
Who it’s for
Choose this for a spa-led reset with a lot of hands-on care and very little exercise: the hike, yoga and breathwork are all gentle. Anyone after a fitness programme should look elsewhere.
Insider Tip: bookings made through BookRetreats include a 15-minute follow-up call with Emmy 30 days after the retreat, a good moment to adjust the roll-on blends and home routine you leave with.
Getting there
Chiang Mai airport is about 20 to 30 minutes from the spa by Grab or metered taxi. Pack something that covers shoulders and knees for the temple morning at Doi Suthep.
