High Life Bungalow is a wooden-bungalow resort built into a cliff on Haad Yao, on Koh Phangan’s west coast. It has an infinity pool, a restaurant and bar, and steps down to the beach. Rooms are air-conditioned with a balcony, and the resort sits well away from the Haad Rin Full Moon Party crowd.
Rooms at High Life Bungalow
There are about a dozen room types, mostly one king bed in a Balinese and Thai-style wooden bungalow with a private balcony, fridge, TV and hot-water shower. The difference between them is the view and the size:
- Garden view and standard sea view: the simple option for couples who mostly want a comfortable base and a balcony.
- Deluxe and superior sea view: a king bed plus a sofa bed or an extra twin, which suits a third person.
- Bungalow with pool view and Deluxe Family Room: sleep up to four, with a king bed and two twin beds.
- Quadruple Room: two queen beds.
Views are not equal. One guest comment praises the sea view from a bungalow numbered A3, while another says their own view was limited. If the view is why you are coming, ask the resort which bungalow you will get.
Location and getting there
Haad Yao Beach is at 0 ft, a 15-minute drive from Thongsala Main Pier and about 30 minutes to Haad Rin. A paid pier transfer is offered if you tell the resort a day ahead. Check-in runs from 14:00 to 21:00.

Who High Life Bungalow suits (and who it doesn’t)
It suits couples and small groups who want a sea-view balcony, a pool and a beach on one property, and who will not mind some walking. It is a good fit for a quiet week on the west coast, with swimming off the beach by day and dinner at the on-site restaurant by night.
It is a poorer fit if you have limited mobility, push a pram, or want to be in the middle of nightlife. Stairs are part of the deal, and the Full Moon Party is a long taxi ride away.
