Muang Kluang’s community tourism enterprise is built around Khlong Lat Nod, a mangrove-lined canal in Kapoe district, Ranong. It’s a Muslim fishing community whose families have worked these waters for generations, and the tourism side runs alongside — not instead of — that traditional fishing life. Visitors join a longtail boat through the mangrove channels, help plant saplings on the tidal islands the community is replanting, and can go wet rafting on the canal itself.

A typical visit mixes activity and food: boat trips through the mangroves, a stop to view the community’s fish and crab cages, swimming, and a seafood meal eaten on a raft moored in the water, using the day’s catch.
