Wang Kan Lueang Arboretum

Wang Kan Lueang Waterfall is spring-fed rather than mountain-fed — water surfaces from a large underground source and flows year-round, though it thins out in the hot season. The stream drops through roughly ten low rock tiers before joining the Pa Sak River, at an elevation of around 80 metres above sea level, inside Wang Kan Lueang Arboretum on the border of Chai Badan and Tha Luang districts in Lop Buri.

The forest around the falls is thick with kan lueang trees (Nauclea orientalis), the species that gives the park its name, keeping the site shaded and several degrees cooler than the surrounding farmland. A 66-metre suspension bridge, built in 1992, crosses the stream and links Chai Badan district on one bank to Tha Luang district on the other.

Watch out: The park closed its swimming and facilities area for renovation in June 2024, with no reopening date fixed at the time. Camping-zone activity has picked up again through 2026 based on the park’s own social media updates, but call ahead on 092-909-1669 before planning a swim, since water conditions can change.

Camping is free in two zones — an upper area near the car park and a shaded stretch along the riverbank below — and stays popular with Lop Buri locals over weekends and public holidays. There’s no entry fee for the waterfall or either campsite.

Insider Tip: Swimming hours (09:00–17:00) run shorter than camping access (08:00–20:00), so arrive early if you want time in the water before the day-trip crowd from Lop Buri town shows up.

Reaching the park means driving into Chai Badan district and following signs off the Lop Buri–Chai Badan road toward Tha Din Dam subdistrict — there’s no public transport directly to the gate. Facilities are basic: a car park and toilets, no shops or restaurants on site, so bring your own food and water. Khao Som Phot Wildlife Sanctuary and Wat Pa Si Mahapho Wipatsana, both also in Chai Badan district, make reasonable stops on the same trip. For more of the province, see Lop Buri.
