Diving Tour for Certified Divers: Sail Rock or Koh Tao

This full-day two-dive trip heads to either Sail Rock — the pinnacle halfway between Koh Tao and Koh Phangan where whale sharks occasionally pass through — or the dive sites ringing Koh Tao itself, depending on sea conditions and group preference on the day. Groups are capped at four divers of similar experience per guide, which keeps the pace comfortable rather than herded through the dive like a conveyor belt.

Between the two dives you surface for a buffet lunch on board with bottled water and soft drinks, with time for a proper surface interval rather than a rushed turnaround. Equipment is well maintained and serviced regularly; if you’re bringing your own, the dive centre cleans, dries, and stores it between days so it’s ready for your next trip. Every boat carries 100% oxygen, first-aid kit, and life jackets, and the instructors are certified emergency first responders. Hotel pickup and drop-off on Koh Tao is included. Sail Rock sits in open water and can be choppy; Koh Tao sites are more sheltered.

Certification is required — this is a guided dive trip rather than a course — so bring your card and logbook. Non-diving partners can usually come along for snorkelling, worth asking when booking. The Gulf of Thailand has long calm-water windows but visibility drops in November monsoon months, so March-September is the sweet spot. Gratuities and any souvenir photos the guide takes aren’t in the price. Don’t fly within 18 hours of the final dive. Flag any ear, sinus, or breathing issues at check-in; the dive team may adjust your depth or pair you with a more experienced guide.
