Half-Day Bangkok Bike Tour Including Lunch
Reviewed Jun 2026
Highlights
- Small-group format throughout
- Thai lunch at a local restaurant
- Led by a local guide
- 4-hour tour at a steady pace
This half-day ride trades Bangkok’s main sights for the back lanes north of the river: roughly 15 kilometres of quiet neighbourhood streets, canal-side communities and green space that most walking tours never reach. Riders cover the distance at a slow pace with several breaks built in, rather than treating the kilometres as a target to hit.
The stops are small and specific rather than headline attractions: a workshop where bronze bowls are still hand-made, a temple with a ruin dating back roughly 300 years and still in active use — monks on duty, turtles in the pond outside — a public park with a rest break, and, on weekends only, a local market that isn’t part of the route on weekdays. The ride also crosses Bangkok Noi canal, one of the few points with an open river view.
Guiding is in English by default; French, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish are also listed, though guiding in a language other than English may cost extra. Hotel pickup isn’t included — the group meets at the operator’s own office — and the price covers the bike and helmet, a professional guide, lunch and light refreshments, bottled water, and all taxes and handling fees.

Itinerary
Get away from the tourist crowds and immerse yourself in the everyday life of Bangkok on a half-day bike tour of different kind of neighborhoods. Cycling at a nice, slow pace, you will cover a distance of approximately 15 kilometers, taking several breaks for refreshments and a lunch of the famous Thai cuisine. The tour will show the contrasts of different Thai communities, heading north from the city center along the banks of the river. Bike down narrow alleys to see ordinary Thai homes. We cycle past several schools and continuing northwest, we stop at a couple of special temples never mentioned in the guide books. We pedal through some green areas a world away from the hustle and bustle of central Bangkok.
Traditional handicraft and production of bronze bowls
Temple activity Monks in duty 300 year old temple ruin and still in use Turtles in the pond outside the temple

Meeting point & area
