Living Green Elephant Sanctuary Tour: Khao Khiew Trek

Living Green is a no-ride, no-hook elephant sanctuary on 40 acres in the Khao Khiew hills, reached on an eight-hour day tour from Bangkok. The elephants roam freely and choose when to engage with visitors. It suits travellers who want to see elephants without riding them and are comfortable with a forest trek.

What the day looks like

Transport leaves from Ekkamai Bus Terminal in air-conditioned vehicles. Sessions run in the morning or the afternoon. The day is built around a trek alongside the herd, forest walks and conservation talks from English-speaking guides. The trek leads to a mountaintop viewpoint with 180-degree panoramas.

You wear a traditional Mo Hom shirt for the experience, and a towel is provided. Elephant food and snacks are included, and a professional photography service is part of the package. Lunch is pad thai. It is served after the activities on the morning session and before the activities on the afternoon session. Drinking water is provided throughout.
