Maya Bay’s photographs were shot at dawn for a reason. By 10am the bay is holding 30 speedboats and several hundred swimmers, and whatever drew you there is buried under the logistics of it. This sunrise tour leaves Phuket’s 5-star marina in the pre-dawn dark, eats breakfast on the beach at Maya Bay before the regular tours arrive, and treats the morning crowd-avoidance as the whole product. It costs more than the standard speedboat day out; what you’re buying is having the bay to yourself for an hour or two.

You board a speedboat at Phuket’s only 5-star marina and cross to Phi Phi in time for a picnic-rug breakfast at Maya Bay. From there the day runs through Pileh Lagoon (tide-dependent), a Viking Cave drive-by with the swallow-nest cliffs and macaque monkeys on a nearby beach, and two snorkel stops at Phi Phi reefs for the underwater layer of the island. A lunch at a pool-club restaurant and a final relaxation stop at Bamboo Beach or Koh Rang Yai round off the day, which runs around 8 hours door-to-door. Breakfast, lunch, soft drinks, fruit, snacks, onboard Wi-Fi, restrooms, snorkel gear and national park fees are all included.

Groups average 15 and cap at 18, which is unusually small for a Phi Phi speedboat.

During August and September, Maya Bay closes annually for ecosystem recovery, and the itinerary substitutes Bamboo Island instead. Outside those months, the sunrise timing is the whole point. Bring a warm layer for the boat at dawn, reef-safe sunscreen for the snorkel stops, and a waterproof pouch for your phone. The meeting is at the marina; transfers from Phuket hotels are typically coordinated separately and add 30 to 60 minutes to each end of the day depending on where you’re staying.

Itinerary

1

Phukets only 5 star marina. Marvel at the beautiful yachts as we embark on our adventure into the Andaman sea.

2

Phi Phi Island Tour’s first glimpse of magic - Maya Bay Phi Phi Maya Bay has been a "must sightseeing location" for hordes of Thailand tourists for decades and as such, has suffered from its overuse. Thankfully the National Park prohibited from 2018 to the end of 2021, any boat from dropping anchor in the bay and alighting at the beach, to allow the gorgeous coral island treasures, wildlife and environment time to recover. You will be one of the first boats to arrive and this awe inspiring bay to enjoy placing the first footprints of the day into it's fine white sand. ***During the months of August and September, the Phi Phi National Park closes Maya Bay to tourists to allow some annual rejuvenation to the ecosystem. The stunning Bamboo Island is visited instead during these months. ***

3

The tour’s emerald crown, Pileh Lagoon - Tide Dependent Our next port of call on our sunrise tour, if tide allows, is Pileh Lagoon before the crowds arrive. It is a spectacular emerald green lagoon surrounded by high limestone cliffs on 3 sides, one of the world's most gorgeous natural swimming pools. Grab your action camera and film or take a photo of the extremely spectacular view of the emerald waters merging with the caves and the blue clear horizon.

4

Phi Phi Islands have their secrets - Macaque Monkeys and the Viking Cave During the tour, we will stop by one of the local beaches for a viewing of the monkey troops. For our own safety, we stay on the boat whilst viewing these cute Long-tailed Macaques on the monkey beach. For animal lovers, this is one of the most featured moments of the tour! The Viking Cave is home to the special Birds’ Nests used to make Birds Nest Soup. It is not possible to enter this enormous cave but we will show you from the outside and you can witness the armed guards guarding the birds' nests from looters!

5

Experience the Phi Phi Islands from underwater - 1st Snorkeling Stop It is now time to explore the magical underwater world with some swimming and snorkeling during our speedboat tour. We supply all your snorkeling equipment including fins and flotation aids such as life jackets and swim noodles. The staff are always there (in and out of the water) ready to help any first timers with encouragement, advice and sometimes just a helping hand throughout the day tour. In around Phi Phi waters, we are regularly visited by Whale Sharks, Dolphins, Whales and Reef Sharks. If you're lucky we may see these on tour!

6

Islands and Crystal Waters - 2nd Snorkeling Stop It's time to say hello to the fishes again with another snorkeling stop on our Phi Phi Island Tour.

7

Tours demand relaxation time - Bamboo Beach or Koh Rang Yai Our  penultimate stop on your Phi Phi Islands tour is selected dependant on the conditions of the day and our crew choose between one of two idyllic  tropical islands. Bamboo Island or Koh Rang Yai. Here, you can swim, bathe, relax and take in the sights. Both are true paradise islands with crystal clear waters, picturesque palm trees, and soft white sand. Take your time to enjoy the island’s beauty at one of the most stunning beaches in the world and end your day the right way.

8

Finish your trip to Phi Phi with a well-deserved lunch at our popular pool club restaurant. Many travelers have enjoyed the scrumptious thai-style lunch with all the local flavours of the island. You'll have the opportunity to enhance your culinary palette in one of the most beautiful pool club settings imaginable and will provide all the nourishment you need after a long day undertaking sea activities.
