Phi Phi One Day Tour by Speed Boat from Ao Nang, Krabi
Highlights
- Snorkelling gear provided
- Speedboat transfers between islands
- Thai lunch with vegetarian options
- 7h - 8h tour at a steady pace
Ao Nang to Phi Phi by speedboat runs long — 7 to 8 hours — and covers more ground than most one-day options: Pileh Bay, Viking Cave, two separate snorkelling stops (one off Phi Phi Leh, one off Phi Phi Don), Monkey Beach, and Bamboo Island inside the Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park, on top of Maya Bay itself.
Watch out: Maya Bay closes annually from August 1 to October 1 for government-led environmental rehabilitation. When the closure is in effect, the operator swaps in an alternative island for photos and snorkelling instead — worth confirming directly if Maya Bay is the main reason for booking.
Lunch is a halal buffet at Phi Phi Don with a vegetarian option, plus fruit, soft drinks, snacks and bottled water on board — an explicit halal call-out that’s rarer among Phi Phi day trips from Ao Nang, and useful given the tour also runs in Malay alongside Thai and English. The national park entrance fee — 400 THB per adult, 200 THB for children aged 4 to 11 — is charged separately on the day and isn’t folded into the $51 listed price.
At Monkey Beach, the operator’s own brief warns that the resident monkeys are wild animals, not photo props, and asks travellers to keep their distance and skip feeding them. The two snorkelling stops each run 45 to 60 minutes but shift location on the day depending on conditions, so the exact reef isn’t fixed in advance.

Itinerary
Maya Bay in Koh Phi Phi is a tropical paradise known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and stunning limestone cliffs that create a dramatic backdrop. This idyllic spot became internationally famous after featuring in the movie "The Beach" starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The bay's white sandy beach is ideal for relaxation, while the surrounding waters offer excellent snorkeling opportunities with vibrant marine life. Accessible only by boat, Maya Bay remains a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventurers alike. Feel like checking it out for real someday? Please note: Maya Bay will be closed from August 1 to October 1 for government-led environmental rehabilitation. As an alternative, we’ve selected another beautiful island for photoshoots and snorkeling. Thank you for your kind understanding.
Viking Cave: a photo stop-over to this location that is inhabited by birds that make nests out of their saliva which are harvested to be sold and used as the main ingredient to create the famous birds' nest soup. The tour guide and the boat crew will bring the speed boat in front of Viking for a few minutes to take pictures.
Pileh Bay: A unique lagoon in Phi Phi Leh with turquoise green waters that is surrounded by limestone cliffs. The tour guide will bring the group to this area and anchor the boat inside the lagoon for 45-60 minutes for swimming/taking photos.
Loh Samah Bay: this bay is the entry point to Maya Bay. Crystal clear waters filled with schools of fishes surround the floating pier structure in this area. Maya Bay (including Loh Sama Bay) is closed by the local Thai National Park in an effort to maintain the marine environment from 01 August 2022 until 30 September 2022.
Snorkeling: The tour guide and the boat crew will bring the group to a great spot around Phi Phi Leh to do snorkeling. (45-60 minutes) For the best experience and safety, please note that this snorkeling activitiy is subject to weather changes so the location can be on a different place on the actual day of your tour.
Snorkeling: The tour guide and the boat crew will bring the group to a great spot around Phi Phi Don to do snorkeling. (45-60 minutes) For the best experience and safety, please note that this snorkeling activitiy is subject to weather changes so the location can be on a different place on the actual day of your tour.
Monkey Beach: a small patch of beach found at Phi Phi Don where monkeys can be seen hanging around around the area. The tour guide will bring the group to Monkey Beach and allow everyone to experience the area for 45-60 minutes. Warning: as friendly as they might look, these monkeys are still wild animals so please refrain from getting too close to them or feeding them.
Bamboo Island in Koh Phi Phi is the epitome of a tropical paradise, known for its pristine white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. The island, which is part of the Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park, is surrounded by vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life, making it a prime spot for snorkeling and diving.
