Sam Roi Yod National Park & Praya Nakhon Cave Private Tour from Hua Hin

4.8 (96 reviews) Top rated

Highlights

  • Private trip from Hua Hin
  • Phraya Nakhon Cave with hidden temple
  • Sam Roi Yod National Park with 300 peaks
  • Fishing village and pineapple plantation stops
  • Lunch and air-conditioned vehicle

Sam Roi Yod National Park and Phraya Nakhon Cave run as a private, seven-hour day trip out of Hua Hin, capped at nine guests in an air-conditioned vehicle. The day starts with an 8:30am hotel pickup, then a longtail boat from Ban Bang Phu fishing village to Laem Sala Beach — weather dependent, since high waves sometimes keep the boat at the pier. When that happens, the operator’s contingency is a 30-40 minute walk over the mountain instead, with the guide discussing on the day whether to adjust or cancel that stretch of the plan.

From Laem Sala Beach it’s a 400-meter walk to Phraya Nakhon Cave, where a temple built inside the cavern catches direct sunlight through an opening in the roof — best seen mid-to-late morning, with the exact angle shifting by season. The operator notes this isn’t run as a swimming stop, though guests occasionally get the chance depending on conditions; a swimsuit is worth packing just in case. The afternoon covers the return boat trip, lunch at a local Thai restaurant, and a stop at a pineapple plantation before heading back into Hua Hin by around 3:30pm.

Watch out: The longtail boat to Laem Sala Beach can’t always run in rough weather — the fallback is a 30-40 minute mountain crossing on foot each way, which the guide will only confirm with you on the day.

Insider Tip: Bring a swimsuit even though this isn’t billed as a swimming trip — a window to get in the water near the cave sometimes opens up depending on season and conditions.
