The speed boat cuts through the Andaman Sea toward the Similan Islands, racing past granite islets on the way to three separate snorkel stops. Wow Andaman runs the trip from Wow Andaman Pier (Thap Lamu Pier) in Khao Lak, with hotel pickup covering the wider Phuket area. It’s a full 10-hour day: an early pickup, a light breakfast and gear-fitting at the pier, then a 70-minute speedboat crossing before the first stop at Koh Miang.
From there the boat works north through Koh Payu’s coral gardens to Koh Bangu, where a reef called Breakfast Bend holds sea fans and staghorn coral. Lunch is a seafood box on Koh Similan’s white sand, with time afterward to climb the Sailing Rock viewpoint, a granite formation shaped like a ship’s sail, and the closest thing here to a signature photo.

Insider Tip: pack reef-safe sunscreen and reapply after the first snorkel stop: you’re on and off boats in direct sun for most of the day, with the Sailing Rock hike coming late in the afternoon when the heat has built up.
