Location and getting there
The guesthouse sits in Tambon Muang Kao, the old capital’s district, close to the Ramkhamhaeng National Museum and a short walk from the park gate. Sukhothai Airport is roughly 40 km away and Phitsanulok Airport about 75 km. A paid airport shuttle is available, and a guest mentions the owner helping to arrange a taxi from the airport. From Sukhothai’s bus station in New Sukhothai town, it is a songthaew (shared pickup truck) ride out to the old town, so tell the guesthouse your arrival time and ask how they recommend you travel.
Insider Tip: Plan your first morning at the Sukhothai Historical Park for opening time and ride back for a break before the afternoon heat. Because the guesthouse is so close, you can split the ruins into two short sessions instead of one long day. The Ramkhamhaeng National Museum is a short walk away and makes a good wet-weather fallback.
Who Oldtown Boutique House suits (and who it doesn’t)
It suits solo travellers, couples and cyclists who value location, cleanliness and a host who answers questions. Guests who like to wander out for street food each evening and be back in bed early will find the rhythm works. Families with children over 2 are accepted, though the room options are all doubles or twins, and an extra bed is available on request for guests aged 7 and over.
