The Xcape River Kwai

The Xcape River Kwai (formerly X2 River Kwai, then Cross River Kwai) is a riverside design resort on the Kwai Noi River outside Kanchanaburi town.

Eight cabin and villa types range from 62 to 104 sqm. Luxe, PoolXide and XFloat cabins form the core lineup, with three larger cabin suites above them, plus one- and two-bedroom Fallingwater villas that each come with a private pool. Bed setup and maximum occupancy vary by category, so check the specific room before booking rather than assuming they match.

There’s an infinity pool, the Bridge Bistro & Bar, a spa (Mine Wellness) with massage treatments, kayaks and paddleboards, and free bicycles for exploring along the river. Wi-Fi and parking are free, and the resort can arrange paid transfers, tours, or space for a small meeting or event.

Insider Tip: If you’re booking an XFloat cabin for a family, confirm the minimum age directly with the resort first — it’s usually pitched at 15-plus, but the operator’s own FAQ isn’t consistent on the point.

The resort sits on the Kwai Noi River in Nong Ya, outside Kanchanaburi town. The Bridge over the River Kwai is about 15 km or 20 minutes by road, the war cemetery and JEATH Museum are roughly 13 km away, and Erawan Waterfall is a longer haul at around 60 km — plan on a car or arranged transfer for all of it.

This is a resort to settle into rather than a base for hopping between sights: the river, the pool and the spa are the point, not proximity to the bridge.
