Banharn-Jamsai Tower

Banharn-Jamsai Tower is an observation tower in Suphan Buri town, named for former prime minister Banharn Silpa-archa, whose long tenure as the province’s MP brought a run of civic infrastructure projects here. Going up costs around 30 THB for adults and 15 THB for children before 18:00, rising to 40 THB and 20 THB after that. It’s open Tuesday to Friday 10:00-19:00 and Saturday, Sunday and holidays 10:00-20:30, closed Mondays.
The view from the top is Suphan Buri’s flat central-plains agriculture rather than mountains or coastline — rice paddies laid out in a grid, irrigation canals threading between them, and the town itself spread out below. It’s a straightforward climb rather than a hike; the interest is in the geometry of farmland seen from height, and in the tower structure itself, which leans on traditional Thai architectural details rather than a purely functional design.
Watch out: Towers like this sometimes close for maintenance for extended stretches without much online notice. If you’re making a special trip, call 0 3552 2721 ahead of time to confirm the deck is open rather than relying on an old listing.
Insider Tip: Go up after 18:00 if you want the tower lit and the town below starting to light up — it costs 10 THB more per adult ticket than a daytime visit, but the evening view is a genuinely different experience from the daytime one.

- Named for: Former PM Banharn Silpa-archa
- View: Rice-field plains and Suphan Buri town, not mountains or coast
The tower sits in Mueang Suphan Buri district and is easiest reached by car or motorbike, with parking at the base. A lift runs straight up to the fourth-floor observation deck at 78.75 metres; on the way out you walk down the spiral stairs past the lower exhibit and shop floors, so comfortable shoes still help. It’s a short stop rather than a half-day destination, and works well combined with Sam Chuk Old Market or Wat Phai Rong Wua elsewhere in Suphan Buri province.
