Black Mountain Water Park sits about 10km inland from central Hua Hin, in Tambon Hin Lek Fai in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, as part of the wider Black Mountain golf and resort complex named for the dark hills behind it. Adult tickets are 600 THB, children 300 THB, and anyone under 110cm gets in free — the park runs Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 to 17:00, closed every Wednesday for maintenance.

The layout splits fairly cleanly by intensity. A cluster of steep speed slides occupies the back of the park for anyone chasing an adrenaline hit; a slower-paced lazy river loops around the perimeter for anyone who just wants to float; and a dedicated kids’ zone with shallow pools and mini-slides keeps younger children away from the faster rides. A wave pool sits near the centre, generating swell on a timed cycle rather than running continuously.

Lifeguards are posted at slide exits and pool edges, and life jackets are available free of charge for weaker swimmers. Shade is limited around the slide towers themselves — the tall structures cast little cover at midday — so sunscreen (reef-safe if you have it) matters more here than at a beach day. Lockers are free, which is a real saving compared to parks that charge per use.

Insider Tip: Book online through Klook or a similar platform before you go — the same 600 THB adult ticket is regularly discounted to around 500 THB, and it skips the queue at the gate. If you’re staying nearby, ask your hotel about the free shuttle from the Clock Tower in central Hua Hin — it saves arranging a taxi both ways.

Watch out: The park is genuinely 10km out of town on a fairly rural stretch of road — there’s no walk-in option and limited public transport beyond the shuttle, so sort transport before you set off rather than assuming you’ll flag a tuk-tuk back.

Seniors 60 and over get half off the adult ticket, and a cheaper evening session outside standard hours runs at 300 THB for adults and 150 THB for children at some points in the calendar — worth asking about if you’re arriving late in the day rather than paying full price for a couple of hours. Black Mountain Golf Club shares the same resort grounds, so combining the two into one day out from Hua Hin is straightforward if you have transport sorted.
