Black Mountain Golf Club

Black Mountain Golf Club is a 27-hole course 12 km inland from central Hua Hin, split into North, East, and West nines. It’s the first Thai course named to Golf Digest’s Top 100 Outside the US list — a ranking it’s held every year since 2012 — and it regularly turns up on regional “best in Thailand” lists from golf press and tour operators.
Swedish entrepreneur Stig Notlöv, who built his fortune with the Byggmax home-improvement chain, founded the club in 2005; the original North and East nines, designed by Phil Ryan, opened in 2007, with the West nine following in 2016. The course has since hosted professional golf, including the Black Mountain Masters, the Asian Tour’s International Series Thailand, and the European Tour-co-sanctioned True Thailand Classic — a level of tournament pedigree that separates it from Hua Hin’s other resort courses.
A round costs 3,500 THB for 18 holes, with a cart (750 THB) compulsory and a caddie (350 THB) standard practice — plan on roughly 4,200 THB all-in before tipping. The clubhouse restaurant, open 06:00 to 21:00, serves Thai and Western food overlooking the fairways, and a complimentary shuttle runs guests to and from the clubhouse during restaurant hours. On site, 42 one-, two-, and three-bedroom pool villas function as a golf resort in their own right, each with a private pool, kitchen, and shaded patio — check current rates on Agoda.
Insider Tip: Book an early tee time in the hot season (March-May) — the North and East nines have limited tree cover in places, and the course gets uncomfortably hot by midday.
Watch out: The 3,500 THB green fee doesn’t include the cart or caddie, both of which are effectively mandatory here — factor the full ~4,200 THB into your budget rather than the headline rate alone.
