Raruek Hua Hin

Raruek Hua Hin is a free daily market on Naep Khehat Road, open 11:00-22:00, built around a single preserved old wooden house at the entrance to Soi Hua Hin 51. The house displays historic photographs of old Hua Hin, and the market that’s grown up around it sells street food, drinks, crafts, and souvenirs.

What’s actually here

The site was once an empty plot with one old wooden house standing on it; rather than clear the building for redevelopment, the owner kept it standing and turned it into a small display of Hua Hin’s past, with rare photographs from the town’s earlier decades on show. Stalls have filled in around the house over time, selling Thai street food and snacks, drinks, and handmade crafts and souvenirs. It’s a smaller, more local operation than Hua Hin Night Market or Cicada Market — worth knowing before you go if you’re expecting something on that scale.

Atmosphere and timing

Running from late morning through 22:00, Raruek has a longer window than the strictly evening-only night markets nearby, so it works as a lunch or afternoon stop as well as a dinner one. It picks up in the evening as temperatures drop and stalls fill out, but doesn’t reach the density or crowd levels of Hua Hin’s bigger markets — expect a neighbourhood feel rather than a tourist-bus stop.

Insider Tip: Take a few minutes at the old wooden house before or after eating — the historic photos inside are the one thing here you won’t find at any of Hua Hin’s larger markets.

Watch out: This is a small local market, not a major night-market destination — if you’re specifically after the scale and variety of Cicada Market or Hua Hin Night Market, set expectations accordingly and treat Raruek as a quieter add-on rather than the main event.
