Boonnak Temple
What to Expect
Wat Pa Daeng Boonnak is an ancient forest temple (wat pa) on the western side of Mueang Phayao. Its centrepiece is a weathered Sukhothai-era chedi with a twelve-sided base, set among shady trees that give the compound a quiet, meditative feel. It sees few foreign visitors, and the calm forest setting is the main reason to make the short trip out from Phayao town.
