Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World is a Merlin Entertainments aquarium on Floors B1-B2 of Siam Paragon mall, one of the largest underground aquariums in Southeast Asia. A single adult ticket costs around 799 THB online (about 1,199 THB at the gate); it’s open daily 10:00-20:00, last entry 19:00.

Experience

The exhibits are organised into themed zones. Coral Reefs showcases reef fish and a clownfish display; the Ocean Tunnel is a glass walkway that puts sharks, rays, and schooling fish directly overhead as if you’re walking underwater; and Shark Walk lets you cross an acrylic floor with four or more shark species swimming beneath you. Beyond the main tanks, there are touch pools and talks scheduled through the day — check the board near the entrance for feeding times, which are the liveliest moments to time a visit around.

Atmosphere & Timing

Being inside a major shopping mall, the aquarium gets busiest on weekend afternoons when Siam Paragon itself is packed. Weekday mornings shortly after the 10:00 opening are noticeably quieter, with more room at the glass for photos.

Practical

The aquarium sits directly beneath Siam Paragon on Rama I Road, in central Bangkok’s Siam Square shopping district, a short walk from BTS Siam — no need for a taxi if you’re already in the area. Combo tickets bundling entry with Madame Tussauds Bangkok, also inside the mall, work out cheaper than buying separately if you’re doing both.

Insider Tip: Book online at least a day ahead — the same ticket costs roughly 400 THB less than paying at the counter, and online tickets skip the queue.

Watch out: Unlike government-run attractions elsewhere in Thailand, there’s no discounted Thai-national rate here — the ticket price is the same for everyone, so don’t expect a local-price line at the counter.
