Siam Paragon
ห้างสรรพสินค้าสยามพารากอน
Siam Paragon anchors Bangkok’s Siam Square shopping district with seven floors of luxury retail, a supercar showroom, and SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World in the basement — one of Southeast Asia’s largest aquariums. The mall is free to enter and open daily from 10:00 to 22:00; the aquarium charges separately and keeps its own hours (10:00-20:00, last entry 19:00).
Ground and upper floors carry the flagship names — Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada — alongside a full floor of Japanese and Korean fashion brands that draws a younger crowd than the designer counters suggest. The Paragon automotive showroom on the ground floor rotates Lamborghini, Maserati, and Ferrari models parked between the escalators, free to walk past and photograph. Downstairs, the basement level splits between SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World’s shark tunnels and jellyfish tanks, and the Gourmet Market food hall, where stalls sell everything from Japanese wagyu to Thai street-food staples at mall prices — expect to pay more here than at an actual street stall, but the seating and air conditioning make it a reliable lunch stop.
Insider Tip: Book SEA LIFE tickets online in advance rather than at the counter — the same-day walk-up price runs noticeably higher than pre-booked combo deals, and online booking skips the queue entirely.
The mall reads more like an upscale exhibition hall than a typical shopping centre: marble floors, high ceilings, and an open central atrium where the crowd thins out considerably on weekday mornings compared to the weekend crush. English is spoken throughout, and directory boards in the main atrium map out each floor by category (fashion, electronics, dining, entertainment).
Watch out: Weekend afternoons get genuinely crowded, particularly around the BTS entrance and food hall — if you’re aiming for photos of the automotive showroom or a relaxed browse, go on a weekday before noon.
Getting there is straightforward: the BTS Skytrain stops directly at Siam Station, connected to the mall by a covered skywalk, so there’s no need to deal with Bangkok traffic or cross a road to reach the entrance. Combine a visit with Chatuchak Weekend Market for contrasting ends of Bangkok shopping, or ICONSIAM across the river for another high-end mall with a different riverside setting.
