Tamnang Waterfall
น้ำตกตำหนัง
Tamnang Waterfall (น้ำตกตำหนัง) is the signature cascade of Si Phang Nga National Park in Khura Buri — a roughly 60-metre drop into a wide, clear pool deep in evergreen forest. Travellers based in Khao Lak often day-trip here; it is not a short hop behind Bang Niang.
From the park side, a forest path leads to the fall after you pass HQ and camping areas. Birdlife is a secondary draw along the nature trails, and a shorter spur reaches quieter Ton Deng for those who want less crowd than the main pool. Bring water, insect repellent, and shoes that can handle wet rock.
Watch out: Park fees and closing times follow national-park rules. Commonly cited foreign/Thai adult rates are around 100 / 20 THB and hours around 08:00–16:30, but confirm at the gate — do not rely on third-party quotes alone. After heavy rain, trails and swimming conditions can change quickly.
Combine with the wider park (camping, Ton Sai / other falls) rather than treating Tamnang as an isolated roadside stop. For a waterfall closer to the Khao Lak beaches, use Ton Chong Fa instead.
Insider Tip: Arrive earlier in the day from Khao Lak so you clear the gate with time to swim and walk back before staff wind down afternoon entry.
