TALAY is a small retreat a short walk from Natai Beach in Phang Nga, about 25 minutes’ drive north of Phuket airport. It runs on a “Tap In Tap Out” format. There’s no fixed start day, so you arrive when you like and join the daily rhythm of movement, ocean sessions and shared dinners. This is the three-day version.
- Duration: 3 days, 2 nights, any arrival day
- Sessions: a morning movement session and a midday discovery session daily
- Ocean: surf therapy and ocean immersion sessions on some days
- Meals: brunch and a Thai-style dinner; lunch not included
- Rooms: private queen or king rooms, or a shared twin, all air-conditioned
A typical day
Mornings start with a movement session, then brunch. Around midday comes a discovery session, which changes daily. It might be breathwork, meditation, myofascial release, art therapy, journaling, a nervous system reset workshop or ocean and surf therapy led by Tim, the Australian founder of TALAY Surf School. Afternoons are free for the beach, the salt-water pool, hammocks, an in-room massage or a paid excursion such as bamboo rafting or the hot springs. The day ends with a shared dinner.
Sessions shift with the weather and the season. Surf season in Thailand runs from May to December, so the ocean work varies through the year.
Food
Brunch is fresh and whole-food based, and dinner is Thai-inspired and served communally. Vegetarian options are available, with special diet meals offered as a paid upgrade. Herbal tea and coffee are unlimited.
Watch out: lunch isn’t part of the package. Fruit, light snacks and the daily coconut fill the gap between brunch and dinner, but most people will want a midday meal out.
Who it’s for
Three days at TALAY gives you a routine and people to share dinner with, without signing up for a full week. Every session is optional, so you can join them all or trade one for a morning in a hammock.
Insider Tip: because there’s no fixed start, three days works well as a reset at the start or end of a Phuket trip. Book a pool-access room if you’d rather swim than walk to the beach.
Getting there
Phuket International Airport (HKT) is about 25 minutes away, and transfers can be booked as an extra. Taxis can follow the Google Maps pin for The TALAY, Natai Beach, Khok Kloi, and there’s street parking in front if you drive. Check-in is from noon and check-out by 2pm.
Booking terms: deposit refunds step down from 100% (30 or more days out) to 50% (15 to 29 days) and 0% (the final 14 days).
