The Resilient Woman Retreat is a week on AYURAH, the wellness programme at Aleenta Phuket-Phang Nga, a small all-suite resort on Natai Beach, in Phang Nga province, about 25 minutes’ drive from Phuket airport. It is aimed at women going through hormonal change, perimenopause, high stress, low energy or broken sleep.
- Duration: 8 days, 7 nights
- Lead: AYURAH’s Wellness Director, a medical doctor
- Assessment: pre-arrival questionnaire, metabolic screening, body composition
- Treatments: seven spa treatments and a floatation session
- Room: Grand Deluxe Pool Villa, 141m² with a private pool
How the week works
The assessment starts at home, with a health and lifestyle form to fill in before you travel. On arrival you have a consultation focused on female physiology, plus metabolic screening and a body-composition analysis, which set the baseline for the week. From then on you get as many as four sessions a day: usually a morning movement class (yoga, Tai Chi, fitness training or Muay Thai), something from the weekly group schedule, a private massage or treatment, and one more session tailored to you. Low-energy days can be lighter. A mid-stay review adjusts the programme, and you leave with a home plan and a wellness pack.
Dr Anton Obrist, the Wellness Director and Medical Advisor, has more than 20 years in integrative and preventive medicine and sets the health direction. Retreat host Yaazhini (Yani) Pugazhendhi and Ankit Jaiswal lead the yoga, breathwork and mindfulness sessions.
Food
The cooking is mostly plant-based without being vegetarian, and your goals and test results decide portions and protein. Depending on your consultation, a gentle intermittent fasting programme can replace some meals. There’s no alcohol, refined sugar or processed food during the retreat. The kitchen covers vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-allergy, halal and Jain diets.
Watch out: blood and hormone panels are not included. The fasted blood panel, hormone panels and VitalLife extended diagnostics are optional extras, so budget for them if lab testing matters to you.
The setting
The resort is 25 minutes from the airport but feels much further out. Every suite at Aleenta has a private pool or swim-up access, and guests can use the fitness centre, beach gym, yoga studio and sala. The resort holds a MICHELIN Key and belongs to The Leading Hotels of the World.
Who it’s for
The draw is a medically guided reset without a hospital feel: Aleenta is a resort, not a clinic, and the doctor’s role is to steer the week rather than treat you. Guests must be 16 or over.
Insider Tip: the lowest rate is per person when two share the villa. Booking alone costs noticeably more, so travel with a friend if you can.
Practical
Fly to Phuket (HKT), 25 minutes away. Your villa is ready from 2pm, and you leave it by noon on the last day. Cancelling costs nothing provided you do it at least a day before arrival, when the full deposit is returned. The balance is settled at check-in by cash, card or bank transfer.
